The pseudonym, Peyton Mathie, is derived from the first name of my daughter's childhood friend (Peyton) and the surname of a former coworker (Mathie), whose personal character and philosophies I greatly admired. In the first, I saw semblances of my childhood and in the latter, inspiration for my future.
